"If it wasn't for him enlisting, I would not be playing the game." Cameron Champ was able to connect with the founder of the Warrior Reunion Foundation last week at the Grant Thornton Invitational and discuss his family's history of service in the military. [Presented by Grant Thornton (US)]

  • The PGA TOUR announced today that The Ophelia Project, a non-profit beneficiary of The American Express, has been named the 2024 PGA TOUR Charity of the Year! The organization was recently surprised with the honor during the tournament’s annual Community Impact Celebration. Part of the JFK Memorial Foundation, The Ophelia Project is a comprehensive, five-year mentoring program that provides a supportive environment, training and education for 300 to 400 girls annually in grades 8 through 12. Volunteer mentors help girls stay in school, develop positive values, increase self-esteem, graduate on time with college or career plans, and pursue paths to a brighter future. To date, 5,400 girls have completed the program, achieving an impressive 100% graduation rate.

  • Ken Hoffman, a volunteer at the Arnold Palmer Invitational since 1979, has been selected as the 2024 PGA TOUR Volunteer of the Year! Hoffman initially served with the Status Board committee. After many years of chairing several committees, Hoffman served as a member of the Volunteer Executive Board for eight years before becoming the Volunteer General Chairman in 2017 and 2018. While previous chairmen retired after their term, Hoffman continued to support multiple areas of the tournament and was invited to serve on the Volunteer Executive Leadership Team where he oversees the Scoring committees. With the award, the PGA TOUR will donate $10,000 to the charity of Hoffman’s choosing – The Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation, the primary beneficiary of the Arnold Palmer's tournament. PGA TOUR tournaments would not be possible without the support of volunteers, who not only help events operate with unsurpassed guest service, but also contribute to the overall charitable impact. With the support of more than 100,000 volunteers annually demonstrating the PGA TOUR Volunteer Service Excellence priority standards of safety, competition and hospitality, the TOUR assists approximately 3,000 charities each year. Virtually all tournaments are organized as non-profit organizations to maximize charitable giving, and to date, tournaments across all Tours have generated more than $4 billion.

  • Because of the contributions of its tournaments, partners, volunteers, and supporters, the PGA TOUR has surpassed $4 billion in charitable giving.   This milestone is a remarkable achievement, made possible by a shared commitment to positively impacting communities through a showcase of golf.   Thank you.   Together, everyone wins.

  • Over the last three years, as Scottie Scheffler has racked up win after win, his unique footwork has become a beloved trademark of the FedExCup Champion and World No. 1. On his way to becoming the first ever back-to-back THE PLAYERS Championship winner in March, a commenter on our social media joked that his body at impact would make for a great logo. Taylor Ryan, our curious and creative Social Content Manager, did not hesitate. She created the Scheffler Shuffle logo from a screenshot and it was released from PGA TOUR social to celebrate Scottie's win. The logo and social buzz that followed helped the trademark go from recognizable to iconic. Months later, at a FedEx charity event in a PGA TOUR Superstore near Scottie's home in Dallas, the limited edition Scheffler Shuffle t-shirt was unveiled, with proceeds benefiting Behind Every Door, a non-profit close to Scottie's heart. Taylor was on hand for social coverage, of course. Congratulations Scottie Scheffler, and to all creatives like Taylor, who play a part in bringing to life our world class athletes.
