Duty. Honor. Country. It was 2019, my bonus son’s 4th year at WestPoint. We were at the long-awaited ring weekend, a defining moment in the life of a cadet. Have you ever just wanted to sit at someone’s feet and soak in the wisdom that was oozing out? There was something about the way Anna Maria described her 80 years of life and her experiences as a business owner and philanthropist that enraptured me. She invited us into her home for dinner to give us a sense of her city’s culture, but she gave us so much more - life advice, business lessons, and a bit of history all wrapped into one evening. Although you fortunately don’t have to go thousands of miles to find Anna Maria’s depth of wisdom or her ability to share it, when you find it you ask questions, listen, reflect and hang onto every word.
