The vast majority of funding for #pancreaticcancer research comes from the federal government, so we understand the importance of increasing the federal research investment to accelerate progress and improve patient outcomes. 🔬 For 25 years, we've built a vibrant and diverse community who use their voices to make progress against #pancreaticcancer on Capitol Hill. 📢 Thanks to the year-round work of advocates like YOU and the support of Congressional champions like Representatives Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Terri Sewell (D-AL), our efforts have resulted in $15M for dedicated pancreatic cancer research funding this year. 👏 Rep. Eshoo says to our advocates, “I made my commitment to this [disease] and joined all of you. You are a force of nature across the country. When we launched our Know Your Tumor precision medicine service in 2014, we didn't know whether biomarker and genetic testing would be beneficial to patients facing #pancreaticcancer. 🔬🧪🧬 Ten years later, thanks to YOU, our visionary donors, we now know that the answer is a resounding “yes!” The evidence is so clear that national pancreatic cancer guidelines now recommend genetic and biomarker testing for all patients, opening the door to insurance coverage.
