About us
The Pan-Mass Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Since its founding in 1980, the PMC has successfully melded support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual contributors. All are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing its annual gift. Our hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.

Big News! 📢 The PMC is coming to Worcester! In 2026, the inaugural ride from Worcester will depart from the new start location and hub site at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. With the wind at our backs and nostalgia in our hearts, #PMC2025 will mark an end to a beloved tradition and the PMC will make its last ride from Sturbridge. The town of Sturbridge has been an amazing partner to the PMC since 1981 (our second year), and starting PMC Weekend at the Sturbridge Host Hotel has become a cherished tradition for many of our riders. We salute the town, its citizens, and the many public servants and local businesses that have been wonderful PMC supporters for more than four decades. The PMC is always looking to provide the best weekend cycling experience possible. Moving our central Massachusetts start to Worcester will allow us to do just that. Find out more about PMC 2026, including the proposed route, FAQs and a recent visit to the College of the Holy Cross at https://bit.ly/3Db8P6n

We are pleased to announce that Billy Starr has been elevated to Founder & Chairman of the Pan-Mass Challenge. Billy, along with PMC CEO Jarrett Collins, will advance the PMC's mission to fund cancer research at Dana-Farber by maintaining its status as the leading athletic fundraising event in the nation. Additionally, Billy will oversee and cultivate major gifts and the growing PMC Legacy Society as well as continue to build relationships with riders, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners. "I'm honored by the board's continued display of confidence," said Starr. "Titles change, but the job remains the same. We face big challenges ahead. Yet I remain confident that the PMC team, backed by the extraordinary PMC family, will rise to meet them. So on to the next billion!" Congratulations, Billy! 🎉🚲

#PMC2025 is August 2-3, 2025 and rider registration opens in January 2025! Here are four things that you need to know about PMC 2025! 🚲 PMC 2025 Fundraising minimums and registration fees are the same levels as PMC 2024 but we're raising the bar and the 2025 PMC Heavy Hitter level is increasing to $11,000! 🚲 A new, air-conditioned ship has arrived at Mass Maritime Academy and will be a lodging option for two-day riders and Sunday, one-day riders to Provincetown, pending availability. More information on the ship is coming soon! 🚲 Due to construction near the Provincetown Monument Finish, we will not be able to accommodate guests at the post-ride food and beverage area. Friends and family are still welcome and encouraged to cheer on and meet their riders at the finish line! 🚲The Wellesley Century is no longer a route option. We encourage former Wellesley Century riders to choose one of the fifteen other routes offered on Saturday or Sunday! Mark your calendars, commit to fundraising for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and bring us #CloserByTheMile to a world without cancer.
