About us
Pain Collaborative to Advance Equitable Value-Based Solutions. Expediting access to quality whole health care for the millions of people living with pain. Our mission is to expedite access to quality whole health care for individuals living with pain by fostering meaningful collaboration among diverse stakeholders and promoting innovative, equitable, and evidence-based solutions. We envision an Ecosystem that recognizes the interconnectedness of pain and well-being across all dimensions of health – physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual – and one that embraces equity and innovation, as well as promotes healing, function, and quality of life for all. We are leaders, innovators, catalyzers for change, and subject matter experts who agree that deeper collaboration will expedite access to quality pain care. The participants represent people with lived experience, caregivers, health care providers and administrators, employers, health systems, public and private payors, industry, academia, and government. We uniquely connect key stakeholders and experts involved in comprehensive pain care so they can learn from and inspire one another. We identify gaps in our shared work, develop resources collectively, nurture deeper collaborations, and promote innovation and progress. We purposefully bring together diverse perspectives and take the time to discuss important topics and action steps that will expedite access to whole health, value-based care for all. Currently, our deliverables for 2024 include: -Development of a musculoskeletal pain resource designed for patients (e.g., employees) and payors (e.g., employers) that is being created collectively among our stakeholders and also in coordination with Prudential. -A collective social media campaign in September that aligns the focus of our stakeholders. During this month, we will touch on the timing of Pain Awareness, Self Care Awareness and Suicide Prevention months.

As we start gathering for the holidays, it’s nice to have some public awareness resources about low back pain in our pockets. There are downloadable tools at this link http://bit.ly/lbprealities #TalkTurkeyAboutLowBackPain #LowBackPainRealities
Let’s talk turkey! Steroid injections don’t address the underlying causes of low back pain. However, they may be able to temporarily reduce your pain, making it easier to engage in active treatments, like exercise, that support long-term recovery. Before an injection, first talk with a pain specialist to weigh the benefits against potential risks, such as infection, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, bleeding, and, in rare cases, nerve damage. This Thanksgiving, let’s have real conversations about low back pain. Movement is often your best choice. #TalkTurkeyAboutLowBackPain #LowBackPainRealities #PainCollaborative #ChronicPain #PainAwareness #LivingWithPain #WholeHealth #IntegrativePainManagement #BioPsychoSocialCare #SolvePainTogether #IntegratedPainManagement #RightCareAtTheRightTime

Let’s talk turkey and clear up the confusion about rest and recovery. Rest may help for a day or two with new low back pain but beyond that it can actually make things worse, leading to stiffer joints and weaker muscles. In most cases, gentle movement is key to managing low back pain and preventing future episodes. Staying active through daily activities, walking, or light exercise can make a big difference. This Thanksgiving, let’s have real conversations about low back pain. Sometimes, the best thing for your back is to get up and move. #TalkTurkeyAboutLowBackPain #LowBackPainRealities #PainCollaborative #ChronicPain #PainAwareness #LivingWithPain #WholeHealth #IntegrativePainManagement #BioPsychoSocialCare #SolvePainTogether #IntegratedPainManagement #RightCareAtTheRightTime

Let’s talk turkey! Many people believe they need an MRI or x-ray to 'see' what’s wrong with their back. But unless you’ve had an accident, are experiencing worsening leg weakness, or your pain isn’t improving after 4-6 weeks, imaging is usually not necessary. This Thanksgiving, let’s have real conversations about when imaging is truly needed for low back pain. #TalkTurkeyAboutLowBackPain #LowBackPainRealities #PainCollaborative #ChronicPain #PainAwareness #LivingWithPain #WholeHealth #IntegrativePainManagement #BioPsychoSocialCare #SolvePainTogether #IntegratedPainManagement #RightCareAtTheRightTime
