AI is everywhere these days—unless, of course, you’ve been living under a rock. At Owlery, we even went all-in and grabbed the domain name owlery.ai. (And trust me, if you say it five times fast, it does get easier to pronounce—just ask me.) But here’s the thing: we didn’t go with “.ai” because we’re churning out AI-generated art or building models that write poetry. We did it because I know—from experience—that supply chain is, at its core, a data problem. Not for lack of data—oh no, there’s plenty of that. The problem is that it’s scattered, fragmented, and living in a dozen different places. When I was managing a team writing software for carriers at Uber Freight, a large part of our work involved building complex systems to pull data from different sources and make sense of it in a unified way (aka normalizing the data). Supply chain teams face this every day: * ERP? Check. * WMS? IMS? OMS? Probably all three. * Spreadsheets with carefully crafted macros and formulas? Of course. * Freight service providers and 3PLs? They might know more about your logistics data than your own team. Sound familiar? The truth is, supply chain teams are drowning in data. But how much time are you spending wrangling it instead of using it to think strategically? Crunching numbers is necessary—but turning them into insights that improve your business? That’s where the magic happens. So, what’s the most time-consuming part of managing your supply chain data? I’d love to hear your thoughts! At Owlery, we’re building products to make this easier, and your input could help shape them. Oh, and yes—I’ll attach another AI-generated picture below. You knew that was coming. 😄
