Our Next Energy is honored to be one of Fast Company’s 2024 Most Innovative Companies in the automotive category.   Electric vehicles will go mainstream when range anxiety is addressed. ONE’s Gemini dual-chemistry battery is designed to double the range of electric vehicles without compromising safety. Gemini uses two cells: a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell for daily driving and an anode-free cell for longer trips.    The ONE team is on a mission to overcome the biggest obstacles to electrification. On September 10th, 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to present our recommendations to Secretary Jennifer Granholm as part of EWAB's mission to shape the future of our energy workforce. 🌍⚡️ Our recommendations addressed some of the most pressing challenges in the energy sector, including: (1) Ensuring DOE workforce programs effectively meet the current and future needs of industry and labor. (2) Supporting young people and adults in finding energy jobs with true career mobility. (3) Leveraging the DOE’s technical expertise to support the workforce efforts of other Federal agencies. (4) Advancing the Equity in Energy Initiative and other priorities by emphasizing job quality and inclusivity. (5) Developing plans to retrain displaced workers and help them thrive in new energy roles. (6) Focusing on diversity, inclusion, and retention, ensuring that underrepresented groups have access to high-quality education and training opportunities, with a focus on job quality. We also identified key energy sectors in greatest need of workforce training and outlined the essential skills that will propel these industries forward. I'm deeply grateful to be part of this important work as we continue building a more sustainable, inclusive, and forward-looking energy workforce.
