Columbus Recreation and Parks Department recently hosted LiFEsports at The Ohio State University's Coach Beyond training for over 100 staff who coach youth in recreational leagues and afterschool and summer programs. OhioMHAS Chief of Staff John Annarino joined Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board in celebrating the reopening of the Meadow Center in Mount Gilead. This behavioral healthcare hub provides life-saving services in partnership with provider agencies Syntero, Inc., Southeast Healthcare, Maryhaven, Inc., and HelpLine of Delaware & Morrow Counties, Inc. OhioMHAS is proud to have contributed nearly $2M in capital and ARPA funding to help bring this project to life. The Meadow Center enables individuals to receive the care they need close to home including counseling, psychiatry, crisis assessment and referrals, medication assisted treatment, or family education.

OhioMHAS joined Appalachian Children Coalition, The Joe Burrow Foundation, the Gallia-Jackson-Meigs ADAMH Board, and Galia County Local Schools for the first Healthy Meals for Healthy Minds event designed to support the health and well-being of families while celebrating the spirit of gratitude and giving. Resources available to the more than 800 individuals at the event included: 🍗Free groceries for 200 families featuring all the essentials for a Thanksgiving meal. 🍽️ Wellness resources from community organizations on nutrition, mental health, and the connection between healthy eating and overall wellness. 💉 Health screenings such as blood pressure checks, COVID and flu shots, hearing and personalized nutrition advice. 🏈 A visit from former NFL Browns Quarterback Bernie Kosar.
