The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, known as NYSERDA, promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. Big news for EV drivers! 🚗⚡️ Governor Kathy Hochul announced $28.5 million is now available to install electric vehicle fast chargers along travel corridors in New York State, funded by a federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Grant. The second round will focus on locations along and south of Interstate 84. NYSERDA, in partnership with the NYS Department of Transportation, New York Power Authority, New York State Department of Public Service, New York State Thruway Authority, and the Long Island Power Authority is helping EV developers bring more fast chargers to these key routes through the competitive downstate Direct Current Fast Charger program. https://lnkd.in/eeUJSVcA

ICYMI: 📁 The 2024 Clean Energy Industry Report has been released and New York’s clean energy job growth is at a record high with 178,000 people employed in clean energy jobs in New York State at the end of 2023. 💥Growth in clean energy career opportunities was more than double that of overall job growth statewide! By the numbers: 🎯 Clean and alternative transportation jobs grew the fastest at 17%, expanding by 2,100 jobs in just 12 months. 🎯 93% of clean energy workers were at least somewhat confident of career advancement in the next 12 months. 🎯 65% of clean energy workers reported being “very satisfied” with their career. Keeley Jock, from Akwesasne, a Mohawk reservation on the border of New York State and Canada, is a Paul Smith's College alum with a B.S. in Environmental Science and currently a fellow at the association.
