🎉 Today, airport leadership, Albany County Airport Authority board members, local elected officials, construction personnel, and our partners from the NYS Department of Transportation gathered at the airport to celebrate a major milestone in the terminal expansion project. At the event, the final steel beam for the terminal expansion was erected on the terminal side of the construction site where attendees signed the beam before it was put into place. While there’s still much to be done, today’s announcement marks is a significant step as we continue to build what’s going to be a new, improved and modernized terminal at ALB. NYSDOT earns top honors in the Transportation Research Board’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion video competition. The video, featuring locally hired workers who live near the I-81 Viaduct Project in Syracuse, was named Outstanding Video in the State DOT category. 🚨 Good News Alert! 🦅 While cleaning up the fence line of NYSDOT's Geneseo Residency, John and Kristin noticed something unusual—an injured red-tailed hawk needing help. Acting swiftly, they used welding gloves to gently rescue the bird. Kristin even donated her blanket to keep the hawk warm and comfortable until a nearby bird rescue could assist. Thanks to their compassion and quick actions, the hawk is now receiving care and is expected to make a full recovery. This incredible act of kindness is a shining example of our NYSDOT team going the extra mile—not just for our roads, but for all who share the environment with us. #Teamwork #RedTailedHawk #WildlifeRescue

🚧👷♂️ Meet Robert from Johnstown, NY! Robert is one of the dedicated NYSDOT plow drivers working to keep our roads safe during snowstorms. When he’s not clearing the way for your commute, you’ll find him helping on his family farm. What motivates Robert to get behind the wheel of a plow? "It’s knowing I’m helping my neighbors and my community,” he says. Robert’s passion for helping others doesn’t stop there—he also volunteers for deployments to assist other regions in need. Thank you, Robert, for all you do to keep New Yorkers safe! 👏
