Rizza Marzo shares her experience with taking the leap and getting LASIK with us! 🙌
I have 20/20 vision now! 👁️👁️ I was inspired by some colleagues at work Sara Dziadaszek and Michael Dziadaszek and my friend Victoria Lee to look into Lasik after having issues with headaches from glasses while looking at the computer 8+ hours a day, issues driving at night, and doing snow sports that require goggles. I chose NVISION Eye Centers to help me with the journey and wanted to share my story in hopes of inspiring other people to make the jump if they’re considering it. I was VERY scared at first after hearing that I’d have to do the surgery eyes wide opened by… clamps!!! I’ve never been great at adding eye drops either. I still can’t add drops directly into my pupils to this day. I still put the drops on the bottom flap or the edge of my eyes. I had a week before my surgery day from my consultation day to conquer my fear. I was relentless in putting eye drops every hour because of my dry eyes. I was consistent with putting night time ointments and did everything I could to prepare for the surgery. I didn’t want to be disqualified or have complications. They made sure to check the health of my eyes and that I was a good candidate for Lasik. They made sure I understand the risks and complications. And they offered me a sweet deal that was better than what I would have paid with an insurance discount. Surgery day came… I was scared of the clamps but I was more excited to change my life! Another patient asked me to go first because they were claustrophobic and I agreed despite being afraid myself. I was so tense during the surgery and trying not to flinch. I didn’t feel pain just pressure thanks to the numbing drops and the eye surgeon. 15 minutes later, the surgery ended and I kept my eyes shut for the rest of the day. I realized that there were so many folks battling their own fears, including my self; whether it’s imposter syndrome at work, life changing eye surgery, life threatening diseases, and so many more. We are afraid but sometimes we just need to jump towards the scary thing and just do our best. Not only did I get 20/20 vision, I got some good insight about my own resilience. I want to show other people their inner strength so if you’ve been wanting Lasik or have been wanting to change your life, then think of this as a sign! 🪧 Make the jump! Take the step! Start the climb!
