The space was alive with vibrant energy, inviting conversations, and contagious laughter, making it a truly festive gathering. A strong network can provide valuable industry insights, mentorship, and connections to key decision-makers. We go out of our way to create fun and engaging networking opportunities for our clients, because we know that job seekers who network effectively tend to find jobs faster than those relying solely on online applications. NOVAworks has partnered with the SEMI Foundation, Foothill College, National Institute for Industry and Career Advancement, and work2future to launch a new Registered Apprenticeship Program for the semiconductor industry. This program offers career seekers the chance to gain hands-on experience with top companies while taking specialized courses to enhance their skills. California's semiconductor industry is poised for significant growth, and recent bipartisan legislation under the CHIPS and Science Act is providing up to $93 million in funding to help revitalize the sector and create more high-quality jobs. With this regional partnership, NOVAworks is dedicated to connecting career seekers with opportunities and supporting the workforce needs of this expanding industry. Local businesses like Applied Materials, Infinera, and Western Digital have already hired advanced manufacturing apprentices through this program, and more companies are on the way. This semiconductor apprenticeship initiative is just one of the ways NOVAworks is working to strengthen the region's workforce and create pathways to sustainable careers. NOVAworks celebrates National Apprenticeship Week! Apprenticeships are paving new pathways into high-demand careers. In the U.S., there are nearly 900,000 apprentices developing skills that will shape the future of industries like healthcare, IT, and clean energy. Registered Apprenticeship programs enable employers to develop and train their future workforce while offering career seekers affordable paths to secure quality, high-paying jobs. In fact, 93% of apprentices who complete a Registered Apprenticeship retain employment, with an average annual salary of $77,000. Here in Silicon Valley, NOVAworks is partnering in initiatives to grow apprenticeship programs that will meet workforce demands in strategic sectors, while supporting historically underrepresented groups. These programs empower people to gain valuable skills, secure well-paid roles, and help meet the growing demands of Bay Area key industries. Join us in celebrating the power of apprenticeships in transforming our workforce! #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #NOVAworksLaunchLab #SectorStrategy #QualityJobs #Equity #EarnAsYouLearn #WorkforceDevelopment
