Wonderful event. We can’t thank our early childhood development partner #familyandchildrenagency enough for honoring Norwalk Community Health Center and our CEO #KennethWaller with the 2024 Williom O. Murphy Family Strengthening Award. More impactful together.

Not to blow our own horn, but yeah. And for our sister #fqhcs across the US. Our independent, non-profit #communityhealthandwellnesscenter, on a shoestring budget-without running a budget deficit, cares for nearly 13,000 patients (55,000 scheduled visits) each year, offers free health and wellness programs, hosts a farmers market, plus a cardiometabolic clinic podiatry and psychiatry, dental, pediatrics and women’s health plus school-based health centers and a medical mobile unit and will never turn you away based on ability to pay. IMAGINE what we could accomplish with your support.
👏🏽 Great op-ed by NACHC Board Member and CEO of CHASS Southwest Health Center in Detroit, Felix Valbuena Jr MD. He makes the case -- in English and Spanish -- that Community Health Centers are a wise investment of federal 💵: "Conventional wisdom is that only the most pressing legislation gets passed in the very tight window between Election Day and Inauguration Day. Ensuring government agencies receive funding is considered one of the mission-critical end-of-year tasks. Securing desperately needed funding to Community Health Centers – which form the backbone of the U.S. healthcare system – is equally urgent."

tis the season for giving... It started with our annual turkey distribution to 200 patient households -- turkeys and sides courtesy of MBI Inc., fresh produce from #GazyBrothersFarm, supporters like First County Bank and volunteers who pitched in on a Saturday morning. Next stop: Santa Visits from the North Pole with gifts and goodies for our pediatric patients. Calling all elves!

The spirit of #thanksgiving was evident on Saturday. We are indebted to staff, volunteers, and supporters for the amazing teamwork and sense of joy everyone brought to our 2024 Turkey distribution to 200 patient households. Grateful to First County Bank MBI Inc. Gazy Brothers Farm Norwalk Community Health Center Lynn Long Thomas Berta Kenneth Waller, FACHE Adriana Fields
Last Saturday, First County Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer Lynn Long and Chief Retail Banking Officer Thomas Berta volunteered at the Norwalk Community Health Center during their Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution day. Volunteers handed out Turkeys, farm-fresh produce, and nonperishable items so that 200 families could have a holiday meal this Thanksgiving. “It was truly rewarding to volunteer and be part of such a well-organized effort to provide Thanksgiving meals to families throughout our community,” said Lynn Long, CMO for First County Bank. “It’s inspiring to see how we can come together to support those in need, and how a small act of kindness can make such a difference in someone’s life.” To make this year’s distribution day a success, donations were provided by MBI and Gazy Brothers Farm1918. 📸 : Lynn Long, Chief Marketing Officer – First County Bank (L), Adriana Fields- NCHC Board Member, Tom Berta, Chief Retail Banking Officer – First County Bank, Ken Waller, CEO – NCHC, and Betty Cordellos, Director of Development and Communications – NCHC (R).
