  • Nippon Dynawave Foundation 2024 Scholarship Winners. Congratulations to Rachel Torres, Emma Anderson and Jasmine Smith! Rachel is a Geology major and Environmental Studies minor on track to earn a bachelor’s degree by 2026. She loves all things outdoorsy and adventurous and is looking forward to a career with the National Park Service or Forest Service after graduating, with a focus on the geological aspects of conservation and the environment. Emma is currently a senior at Puyallup high school. This fall she is planning on attending Tacoma Community College, for Human Services. Her goal is to become a Clinical Social Worker. Emma’s message to the Foundation: “I am so grateful to be able to receive this award!” Jasmine graduated from Toutle Lake High School and the Lower Columbia College Running Start Program last year with her diploma and Associate of Arts Degree. She will be attending Lower Columbia College next fall. In June of 2025, Jasmine will graduate with her bachelor’s degree and her Medical Assistant Certification. She is very excited to see where this journey takes her and what her future will hold. Being in the medical field has been a dream of Jasimine’s since she was a little girl; she is eager to help those in need doing what she loves most. Jasmine is currently a full-time student and holds a full-time job as an insurance verifier. On the days of free time, she likes to spend her time outdoors, fishing, or hanging out with family. Jasmine’s message to the Foundation: “I would like to give my gratitude to the Nippon Dynawave Scholarship Committee for their generous scholarship, and I would like to thank all of my family and friends for supporting me over the years.”
