This monologue from Christopher Walken will change how you tell stories forever... 👇 He's using The Hourglass Technique to create a climax. Here's how it works: Just before your story's peak... Slow. Down. Time. Get wordy. Make them wait. How? ✅ Get more descriptive ✅ Use shorter sentences ✅ Incorporate longer pauses ✅ Drop your voice down to a whisper Then, and only then... Release the tension by doing the exact opposite. Speed up time by using long, piercing sentences; delivering them with the energy to match. The difference between the great storytellers and everyone else? The realisation that they have the power to travel in time. We can speed it up, Slow it down... And even, make it... Stop. --- ♻️ Repost if you found this useful and follow Alex Merry for tips on how to think and communicate BIG. 🍿 This clip is from the movie Pool Junkies.
