December is a reset moment for me. I don’t believe I am alone. In a literary sense, I like to create an “Empty space” within a narrative of what I would like to achieve in the new year, not without reviewing this year’s past achievements. I also deliberately leave out how I may achieve next year’s goals, and immerse myself in reading and writing and listening to podcasts. My board service has created a purpose in my work with company owners. My work is focused on building – scalable, purpose driven and resilient companies, with great corporate governance. A great read on Corporate governance follows from McKinsey & Company, I particularly appreciated the commentary regarding resilience and purpose. “Corporations exist with the permission of society, and any sector can be regulated out of business.” Corporate purpose, founded in measurable environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments, can help organizations deliver on societal expectations (see here: https://lnkd.in/gq6u-Eqn ). Corporate purpose is also good for business: organizations with a well-defined purpose see improved company reputation.
