We are a Ninja Warrior nonprofit creating access, connection and resilience for low income and underrepresented youth.
About us
We are an American Ninja Warrior non-profit organization providing services to kids facing obstacles in their lives. Our mission is to increase access to Ninja Warrior training and competition for low income and underrepresented groups while fostering community and connection. Neighborhood Ninjas partners with Ninja Warrior training facilities nationwide to spread community, connection and compassion, one kid at a time. Our work is trauma-informed and aims to empower youth to unlock the 5 C's within themselves: Competence, Confidence, Connection, Compassion and Character. Our Programs: National Mentorship Program: In 2020, we launched the first ever structured mentorship program for the Ninja community. Our program pairs youth mentees with adult mentors all across the country to help develop the 5 C's. We help our mentees learn to overcome obstacles both on and off the course! Community Days: These fundraising events bring together members of the ninja community for a day of games, empowerment and connection. Scholarship Program: We raise money to provide scholarships to help increase access to ninja warrior events that many youth would not otherwise be able to attend. 👏 WE BUILT A PLAYGROUND!!!! 😍😍 Thank you to everyone who helped make our NinjaFit Playground community Build Day such a success! It was amazing watching the community come together to make this happen - we got to meet really cool people who came out to volunteer either on their own, or as a part of local organizations like @rotarywilmington @mccomseybuildersinc , @f3wilmingtonde , @renewalbyandersen , @homedepotfoundation and more. Everyone played a really important role, and we had jobs for even our youngest volunteers (swipe for cuteness). We also want to give a special shoutout to EDiS Build Company, who not only helped us prep the site for build day along with McComsey Builders, Inc., but who has also been on site every day for the last week since the build, doing ground level construction to prepare for rubber surfacing to be installed. We are so grateful for their support! Thank you to @sunbeltrentals and @wrsdumpster for donating machines and a dumpster, to @patspizzabistro @hilldonutsde for fueling us during the day, and to @cgninja_17 @meliaoxner and @missionninja for making the trip to help, and Chris White for taking some of these pics 👏 Shoutout to our amazing leaders Alex Katz Whitney Miller Brittany Nanni Rotary Club of Wilmington, DE teams and those at DE State Parks & General Recreation Inc for coordinating everything and making the day run so smoothly!! We’re currently in planning mode for our Grand Opening happening May 18th at 11am. We hope to see you there!

Thank you so much to the Delaware Recreation and Parks Society for presenting us with the Friends of Recreation Award at today’s event! We are so grateful for the support, and for the impact that this playground will have on the Wilmington and surrounding communities! When we began this project, we envisioned creating a space that would bring folks from diverse backgrounds together in a safe and accessible way that promotes play, movement, community and connection. We envisioned a space that could help youth improve their social emotional skills, growth mindset, resilience and motor skills… A space where we can further impact the community through free classes, workshops, events, and more… A space that would help teens and adults rediscover a love for movement in new, creative and challenging ways that remind them of childhood playtime where there were no rules, and fitness was more about a love for movement and playing “the floor is lava” than is was about trying to change your body. This vision was our driving force for much of this project… …Until we connected with local foster care agencies, Boys and Girls clubs, adaptive athletes, schools and other community serving organizations. They shared their excitement and their vision for how this playground will impact and transform the lives of the youth, adults and communities they serve. And now, more than ever, we are inspired by all that this NinjaFit Playground represents. Thank you everyone for your support and to everyone who has worked hard behind the scenes to make this project possible 💚 Rotary Club of Wilmington, DE

Thank you to @cadetninja18 for being an Obstacle Ally Sponsor for our NinjaFit Playground, AND one of our special guests for the playground Grand Opening, happening in @wilmington.delaware May 18th!!🤩 💪Max Salebra, also known as the Cadet Ninja, is a 12 year old ninja warrior from St. Petersburg, FL. Ninja has been Max’s greatest passion since he was just 7 years old. 😎Max is the American Ninja Warrior season 3 champion, a WNL world champion, world’s strongest ninja, UNAA world champion and World Cup gold medalist. He recently decided to challenge himself and at 12 years old, began to compete pro. Max, along with fellow ninjas @kadenwake & @amaxing11 , is a co owner of @bucketofchalk - a small, premium chalk company helping to grow the sport of ninja while charitably serving the community. Max is also actively involved in many other charitable pursuits to include breast cancer awareness, Homemakers of Hope, Wreaths Across America, supporting our veterans and The Ronald McDonald House Charities. In fact, Max donated his entire winnings from American Ninja Warrior, Jr, and raised over $70,000 for the St. Petersburg Ronald House. His long term dream is to one day become the first American Ninja Warrior President of the United States. Thank you Max! We’re excited to see the impact your donation has on both the ninja and Wilmington communities! . . #ninja #ninjwarrior #anw #bucketofchalk #ninjawarriorjunior #wilmingtonde #ninjaplayground #ninjafit Rotary Club of Wilmington, DE
