This week’s Nonprofit Champion newsletter looked at two spending priorities of Congress that could directly impact nonprofits: 1️⃣ Congress has not enacted any of the 12 appropriations bills to fund the federal government and the current continuing resolution expires on December 20th. It is expected that another continuing resolution will be passed, and this continued delay will also delay any promised earmarks to charitable nonprofits. 2️⃣ Congress is expected to consider a disaster relief package that could provide significant tax incentives for charitable giving and help communities recover from the impacts of the recent devasting storms. Charitable nonprofits can help secure passage of this vital tax relief legislation by urging their Representatives to cosponsor the bill. Learn how you can take action and read the full newsletter: https://lnkd.in/esnp64sH #Nonprofits #NonprofitNews

Happy GivingTuesday! Every donation to charitable nonprofits helps them serve their purpose in your community, but there are many ways to contribute to the global generosity movement beyond a financial donation. However you choose to show your support, our communities are stronger when we show up for each other. #Nonprofits #GivingTuesday #CommunityImpact

🗓️December 31, 2024 is the last day for governments to obligate State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, don’t let the holidays get between you and the chance for your nonprofit to receive crucial funding. Before your mind goes into vacation mode, do some research on the available funding in your area and call your local government(s) to find out how to access the funds before they are unavailable. Read our full analysis of the current data on availability and tips for being an advocate for your nonprofit’s access to the funding: https://bit.ly/slfrf-11-18 #Nonprofits #ARPA #SLFRF #FundingOpportunity

This summer into fall brought the National Council of Nonprofits staff and its network together in Tennessee, New York, Utah, New Hampshire, Georgia, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., and New Jersey! From the Beehive State to the Volunteer State, our team was busy connecting and championing our fellow servant leaders. In New York City, Donna Murray-Brown, Rick Cohen, Allison Higgins, and Tiffany Carter had the opportunity to participate in a Ford Foundation training in nonprofit financial resiliency. In New Jersey, David Thompson looked at the public policy forecast for nonprofits. In Georgia, David joined the celebration for the opening of the Gwinnett Coalition. In Utah and New Hampshire, Donna was the keynote speaker at both nonprofit conferences and spoke on how to be a courageous and authentic leader. We also had three regional convenings and retreats that brought our network together. In Tennessee, Allison joined the Southern State Convening. Back in Utah, Rob Hoshaw participated in the Rocky Mountain Exchange. In Massachusetts, Jessica Mendieta attended the Northeast Regional Retreat. All events provided wonderful opportunities for collaboration and peer-learning for our network members. More is always on the horizon for the National Council of Nonprofits, so be sure to tag us when you see our people out making the sector stronger! #Nonprofits #NonprofitLeadership
