About us
The mission of the National Collaborative for Health Equity is to promote health equity by harnessing evidence, developing leaders, and catalyzing partnerships across the many different sectors that share responsibility for creating a more equitable and just society. Recognizing that action, leadership, inclusion, and collaboration are the basis for driving policy decisions, we strive to connect people most impacted by social and racial injustices and to transform systems and institutions built on the enduring legacy of racism, particularly its less visible – but more insidious –structural manifestations. In so doing, we will improve the health, well-being and life opportunities for communities of color.

Making health a right for all people will take bold leadership—in many forms—focused on addressing structural racism. To create meaningful change, we need leaders who are committed to transformational, system-level approaches that challenge deeply rooted inequities in our health systems. The Culture of Health Leadership Institute for Racial Healing is one way RWJF is supporting leaders who are deeply committed to the work of antiracism. Through a Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) framework, this 18-month leadership experience developed by the National Collaborative for Health Equity helps practitioners to strengthen their skills in advancing racial and health equity. Did you know that a significant number of menstruators in the U.S. struggle to afford essential period products? Especially within Black and brown communities, essential products are often out of reach. Many are forced to rely on makeshift solutions like toilet paper or rags, or they depend on donated items from local organizations. It's time to bring awareness and advocate for accessible menstrual care! https://ow.ly/2u8a50Uq0Vb

We have the power to use data to improve health and nutrition outcomes for all communities, but only if we rethink how it can be used. At the National Collaborative for Health Equity, we’ve learned that we need to rethink how we talk about communities’ health and wellbeing, and reframe our data to show the opportunities for positive change rather than repeat narratives about disparities. In RWJF’s new State of Childhood Obesity report, I share my perspective on how we can leverage data to advance food justice for all people: https://bit.ly/3CXUJVW
