Inspiring leadership and excellence to advance heritage interpretation as a profession.
About us
NAI's mission is to inspire leadership and excellence to advance heritage interpretation as a profession. NAI provides benefits to members who work at parks, public forests, historic sites, museums, nature centers, aquariums, and anywhere that informal heritage education programs are offered to the public—all of them "places people visit." Our members include guides, rangers, managers, curators, interpretive specialists, and those who design exhibits for interpretive or visitor centers.

https://lnkd.in/eTdEMVKK This article educates on the significant efforts of Mecklenburg County in revisiting the narratives of former plantation sites, particularly the transformation of Historic Latta Place. Enjoyed partnering with Liz Morrell, Ph.D. on this feature in Legacy, a publication by the National Association for Interpretation, highlighting this crucial work. Mecklenburg County's dedication to accurately portraying the all of the stories from these sites is commendable and marks a pivotal project within Mecklenburg County and our Park and Recreation Department's scope.

A huge thank you to our fantastic client — Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and our talented partners: Blue Rhino Studio, Barking Dog, iZone Imaging, Drumminhands Design, Gwen Westerman, and Glenn Wasicuna—for their invaluable support and contributions. Gained valuable insight and feeling energized and after completing the extensive National Association for Interpretation Process of Interpretive Planning course this past week with David Bucy, Bucy Associates. Thank you, Dave, and our host, Bethany Kivela at North Chagrin Nature Center-Cleveland Metroparks. It was a pleasure meeting and working with such an amazing group of professionals from interpretive sites all across the country.
