PNAA President’s Holiday and End-of-Year Greetings As we close another remarkable year, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible achievements we have made together in 2024. Our journey has been one of perseverance, dedication, and commitment to excellence. We have truly lived up to the essence of our mantra, i2PNAA: Impact and Influence. Reflecting on 2024 This year, we witnessed extraordinary growth and numerous milestones. Our association successfully improved programs and services that have significantly impacted our members and the broader nursing community. We are expanding our educational programs, providing more opportunities for leadership development, and exploring initiatives to keep members who have retired from full-time practice of nursing engaged with our association. Our mentorship programs flourished, fostering a nurturing environment for new and seasoned nurses alike. We also made strides in advocating for healthcare policies that benefit not only our members but also the communities we serve. Our voice was heard on critical issues, and we continue to be a driving force in shaping the future of nursing and healthcare. The PNAA chapters across the nation have been instrumental in this success. From community health fairs to disaster response efforts, our volunteers have tirelessly dedicated their time and expertise. Your efforts have touched countless lives and exemplified the spirit of caring and compassion that defines our profession. Looking Ahead to 2025 As we look forward to 2025, our vision remains clear: to continue making a profound impact and to expand our influence even further. We will build on our accomplishments and seek new opportunities to enhance the professional and personal growth of our members. Our strategic goals include: Creating an Unforgettable Conference Experience: We are committed to delivering a conference that meets the diverse needs of our active, non-actively licensed, and retired members. Our aim is to create not just a conference but an enriching experience that offers valuable insights, networking opportunities, and personal growth for all attendees. Strengthening Advocacy Efforts: We will continue to champion causes that matter to our members and communities, advocating for policies that support the nursing profession and improve healthcare outcomes. Fostering Community Engagement: We will enhance our outreach programs, deepening our connections with the communities we serve and addressing their unique needs. Enhancing Member Support: We will focus on easing our members' interactions with the association and increasing the value they receive from their membership. PNAA and Alzheimer's Association Join Forces to Empower Communities and Enhance Brain Health In a remarkable stride towards community empowerment and brain health awareness, the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) and the Alzheimer's Association have embarked on a groundbreaking partnership. This collaboration seeks to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, promote brain health, and provide vital support resources to individuals, families, and communities in need. We are excited to announce the twelve PNAA chapters selected to receive grant funding for this groundbreaking partnership: Eastern Region PNA New England PNA New Jersey PNA Virginia South Central Region PNA Metro Houston PNA Tampa PNA San Antonio North Central Region PNA Illinois PNA Greater St. Louis PNA NW Indiana Western Region PNA Colorado PNA Orange County PNA Central California The partnership will see PNAA chapters working hand-in-hand with local Alzheimer's Association chapters, focusing on underserved and underrepresented communities. Through a range of education, research, and awareness programs, the initiative aims to empower nurses, healthcare professionals, and caregivers to enhance awareness, promote early detection, and provide support to those living with dementia. We were thrilled by the overwhelming response and the enthusiasm demonstrated by all applicants. For chapters not selected during this round of application, we encourage you to continue pursuing partnership opportunities with your local Alzheimer's Association chapter. There may be alternative ways to collaborate that align with your chapter's goals and the Alzheimer's Association's mission. Additionally, we want to remind you that if future rounds of this grant are offered, your chapter will remain eligible to apply again. This powerful partnership between PNAA and the Alzheimer's Association promises to make a significant impact in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. By working together, they are proactively addressing cognitive aging and enhancing the quality of life for those affected. Janette V. Moreno, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC PNAA & Alzheimer’s Association Project Manager
