This fall, Morton Buildings engaged in an exciting project in partnership with Dream Center Peoria, a United Way Partner Agency. Over 50 company volunteers helped construct a new Morton building at Zoe House, which offers 24/7 care and mentoring for first time mothers and their babies. Zoe House provides these women with opportunities to learn essential skills such as healthy parenting, cooking, and budgeting. During their stay, mothers can complete their education, secure employment, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Through participation in this project our corporate employees not only supported our ongoing efforts of the Heart of Illinois United Way campaign and community engagement, but also experienced aspects of work not typical of a day spent inside an office. They broadened their knowledge of field operations, and gained insights into the roles of our crew members, the Morton build process, and the critical importance of safety on the jobsite. It was an honor to take part in supporting the great work Dream Center Peoria and Zoe House provide for the community.

Perry Tech students continue to gain hands-on training through the construction of another beautiful, west-Yakima home. This year’s "Building Our Future" house build, presented by Morton Buildings, is in the finishing phase of construction. The project relies on industry support to help reduce the expenses, which allows the profits from the sale of the home to fund student scholarships. To donate towards this effort, contact the Foundation office at 509-453-0374 or [email protected].
