Join the MCCC Legislative Affairs Committee for an insightful briefing and discussion on the key Montgomery County and State policy issues that will impact the business community in 2025. This session will be led by our policy and advocacy experts from Harris Jones & Malone, LLC and Venable LLP. Our distinguished guest speakers, Ashlie Bagwell (Harris Jones & Malone) and John R. Stierhoff, Marta Harting, and Brian Quinn (Venable), will provide their expert analysis on the major state and county political and policy issues that the business community needs to be aware of for the upcoming year. The Legislative Affairs Committee - chaired by MCCC Board Members Leslie Weber and Bill Wiechmann - meets weekly during the Legislative Session of the Maryland General Assembly, During the interim, the Committee meets on the second Thursday of each month. These meetings provide MCCC members with opportunities to learn, discuss, and engage on a variety of policy issues that are impacting the regional business community. In case you missed it: The Montgomery County Office of Procurement’s Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Annual Reports for the Minority, Female and Disabled-Owned Business Program (MFD) and Local Small Business Reserve Program (LSBRP) showed a record $248,126,541 was awarded to certified MFD businesses—the highest amount since the program’s inception.
