Who should get the flu shot? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the flu vaccine (shot) each year to everyone 6 months and older. Get your shot and keep others safe. The flu is dangerous for people older than 65 and people of any age with a chronic health problem. It is also dangerous for soon-to-be mothers and children younger than 5.
