Michigan Veteran Homes (MVH) is the administrative entity that operates the state’s veteran homes on behalf of the Michigan Veterans Facility Authority and is a branch of the Michigan Department of Military and Veteran Affairs. MVH strives to ensure that quality long-term care is provided to the veterans and their eligible family members that live within the Homes. High quality care for this phase of life is central to the “member for life” concept that DMVA embraces. The MVH operates the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids (MVHGR), the Michigan Veteran Homes D.J. Jacobetti (MCHDJJ) in Marquette and the new Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield Township (MVHCT).

#Hiring The weather outside is frightful But working with veterans and our team - it’s delightful And because your RN career is set to grow Maybe this is your sign, to give it a go…. ...Okay. We’ll stick to providing exceptional #skillednursing care and services to veterans, instead of holiday tunes. But we’re hiring a Director of #Nursing at our #longterm care facility for #veterans in #SoutheastMichigan! Spread the word! https://lnkd.in/eAEaykFR
We've got so much to be grateful for at Michigan Veteran Homes. Check out our December Newsletter below, and sign up for our monthly email here: https://lnkd.in/eq6ZHxrt Happy Holiday Season!
The Friends of Rolling Rock Ranch stopped by today, as they do every December, to host bingo, throw a pizza party, and make a generous donation to Michigan Veteran Homes. Today, they donated $26,000. Cumulatively, they’ve raised and given more than a quarter of a million dollars to MVH. It takes a village to serve those who’ve served us. We’re beyond grateful for our village of supporters.
83 years ago today, 2,403 Americans lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor. That attack would change the world. More than 600,000 Michiganders would go on to serve in World War II. Over the past year at Michigan Veteran Homes, we've had the honor and privilege to care for 14 WWII #veterans at our skilled nursing facilities. A nation that fails to serve and support those who've stood to defend it, might soon find none left willing to stand and defend it. At MVH, we're proud to serve those men and women who've served us.
We’re in that holiday spirit, at Michigan Veteran Homes.
Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday. There are plenty of ways to #give at Michigan Veteran Homes, and to those who've worn the uniform in service to our nation. One way is to donate to the MVH Charitable Support Fund (CSF). The CSF is separate from operational funds, and its expenditures are authorized by our Board of Directors for things like #veteran life enrichment activities and programming, equipment and supplies that benefit veteran members, and more. This Giving Tuesday, consider a contribution to the CSF. At MVH, we do more for #veterans in later-in-life and end-of-life care, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. https://lnkd.in/eXG59qsR

Last Thursday, Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) Director Brian L. Love went to the Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield Township (MVHCT) to donate gifts from the Veterans Giving Tree. Each star on the tree represents a gift requested by a veteran member or a life enrichment gift that would improve the quality of life for a group of veterans. Thanks to our friends at the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the Detroit Lions for inviting, recognizing, and honoring some of our WWII #veterans from Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield Township yesterday at the game in #Detroit. The sincerest of “Thank-Yous” fails to do sufficient justice to the incredible generation of patriots who stood tall, served, and sacrificed on our behalf at places like Omaha Beach, Midway, Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and so many others. Nonetheless, we’re hopeful – at the very least – that the way we as a society treat and care for those still with us from this special generation, demonstrates to them that they reside amongst a grateful nation, worthy of their sacrifices. We're serving those men and women who've served us, with the exceptional care and quality of life they earned, and deserve.
Our Giving Trees are up at Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield Township and Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids!
