Our body is a complex system of organs working together to achieve a common goal. Healthcare works in much the same way — at least, it should. It’s well-established that physical and behavioral health are interconnected, so why do we continue to treat them separately? The Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) integrates behavioral health into primary care through a team-based approach, involving a Care Manager, a Psychiatric Consultant, and technology like Mirah. Through Mirah, implementing CoCM and providing your patients with the behavioral health support they so desperately need has never been easier. The NC Department of Health and Human Services is investing $5 MILLION to expand the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) in primary care offices across the state. Up to $50,000 per site is available for providers, especially in rural and underserved areas, to help build capacity for and implement the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM). CoCM is proven to increase access to behavioral healthcare and improve patient outcomes, all while generating additional revenue. Sutter Health is pioneering a new era of integrated behavioral health! This will transform lives with patient-centered care and increased behavioral health access in primary care. We're honored to partner together to make this happen.
This week we celebrated the kickoff of a new Collaborative Care program within Sutter Health, led by the fantastic pediatricians and ambulatory leaders in our Silicon Valley Division. Collaborative Care is an exciting new way of delivering a breadth of behavioral health support services using a team-based approach embedded in primary care. This is a new strategy for Sutter Health, and we feel it is going to change the world of behavioral health for our patients. We are so excited to begin this new journey as the first of many to come! Congratulations to great leaders such as Chantel Johnson, Stephanie Chiang, MD, MPH, Dr. Jennifer Louie, and so many more on the culmination of so much hard work!

Mirah's Hugh Barrigan and Patrick Luizzo are headed to Phoenix, Arizona this week for the American Academy of Family Physicians FMX conference. Gathering hundreds of physicians from across the country, the event is said to "celebrate all things family medicine." We can't think of a better way to do that than talking about how to relieve some of the burden on primary care providers. (Hint: That's what the collaborative care model is designed to address - and we're here to help make it possible.) Want to know more? Let's chat. Stop by Booth 1661 or send us a DM and let's set up a time to connect. #AAFPFMX #CollaborativeCare #CoCM

Imagine a healthcare system that doesn’t just wait for mental health crises but actively works to prevent them. That’s the future Dr. Helen Ouyang talks about in her recent The New York Times piece, and it's the future we, at Mirah, are passionate about too. The Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) is leading this shift by integrating behavioral health into primary care, allowing patients to get timely, evidence-based mental health support without needing a specialist appointment. It helps solve the ongoing behavioral health workforce shortage while empowering primary care teams with psychiatric expertise. With data-driven decision-making and a scalable model that includes care managers from all backgrounds, CoCM is about breaking down barriers, improving access, and most importantly, preventing mental health struggles from becoming crises. I’m excited to be part of this conversation, helping health systems integrate models like CoCM that treat the whole person - not just the symptoms. #cocm #healthcareinnovation #quintupleaim #MentalHealth #CollaborativeCare

Picture this: It's 8AM on a Monday. Dr. Smith stumbles into his office, already exhausted. His grueling to-do list is carried over from last week's unfinished tasks yet his day is packed tighter than a subway car at rush hour. Across town, Dr. Jones strolls in and grins, sipping her coffee. She's excited about the day ahead, which is sure to be filled with meaningful patient interactions. The kicker? They're both primary care physicians. In 2024. How can two doctors in the same field have such different experiences? Why do some PCPs report that "there's never been a better time to be a primary care doctor" - yet almost 40% report feeling at least one dimension of burnout? It turns out that being a PCP today is a bit like living in a Charles Dickens novel - it is the best of times *and* the worst of times. Quite the paradox. But, there's a hero in this story that is transforming the lives of both PCPs and their patients. Check out our latest blog post, written by Mirah's Hugh Barrigan, to discover: ➡ Why it's tougher than ever to be a PCP ➡ Why some PCPs are excited for the future of the profession ➡ The secret weapon that's making things easier for some PCPs, like our Dr. Jones here (spoiler: it's not a magic wand) https://lnkd.in/efVP--Nh #PrimaryCare #IntegratedBH #CollaborativeCare

Mirah's Jill Donelan, Psy.D. is speaking today on an especially imperative topic: behavioral healthcare tools for screening and ongoing measurement with the pediatric population. She's dispelling some common myths around measurement-based care (MBC), sharing how treatment options are supported when informed by data, and covering essential tips for MBC with youth populations. Her presentation is part of the Behavioral Health Leadership Forum at the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved conference. Can't go but want to know more? Send us a DM and we'd be glad to share. Learn more about ACU here: https://lnkd.in/eNYhPh5s #measurementbasedcare #pediatricmentalhealth #MBC
