This organization has been instrumental in my career, fostering connections with incredible individuals—from students to senior executives—who all share a passion for unlocking the power of data. What started in 2014 with my talk, “Operationalizing Big Data”, evolved into years of collaboration: organizing 1,000+ attendee conferences like Big Data Tech, contributing to student challenges, and encouraging brilliant folks to share their expertise. MinneAnalytics has grown into a 17,000-strong Midwest powerhouse supporting scholarships, niche data groups, and much more. I’m excited to help shape the next chapter of this amazing community! 🌟 Reflecting on an incredible WiADS 2024! 🌟 On November 4th, the University of Minnesota’s Data Science Initiative, in collaboration with MinneAnalytics, hosted the Women in AI & Data Science (WiADS) Conference at the McNamara Alumni Center. This sold-out event welcomed over 1,000 registrants, including 550 in-person attendees, amplifying the voices of women, non-binary, and gender-diverse leaders in data science. Attendees represented nearly 300 units from about 230 distinct business and academic institutions, highlighting the wide-ranging interest and support for advancing gender representation in this growing field. We were honored to feature distinguished speakers from academia and industry—including experts from the University of Minnesota, Target, Optum, CHS, U.S. Bank, and more—who shared insights, sparked connections, and celebrated the community. Provost Rachel Croson’s welcome address underscored the importance of collaboration and mentorship, offering words that resonated deeply with attendees:   🗣️ “Check in with each other regularly, celebrate your successes, and help each other through your struggles. This is not a competition. We all do better when we all do better.” Feedback from attendees spoke to the empowering atmosphere of WiADS: 💬 "As a woman, it was AMAZING to see only women speakers. They were confident and knowledgeable. It was so inspirational!"   💬 “I loved the apple cider and the bracelets. Nice touch.
