In line with the MHS Strategy, the Military Health System and United States Department of Defense committed their efforts to #WomensHealth research and representation this year. DOD announced a $500 million commitment to advance women’s health research aimed at improving the medical readiness of the armed forces and supporting the health of women service members, veterans and beneficiaries. Uniformed Services University hosted the Military Women’s Health Research Initiative Celebration, bringing together leaders from the DOD, Veterans Health Administration, The White House, and key military health stakeholders to highlight the critical progress made in addressing the unique medical needs of military women and the importance of focused, evidence-based care for service members and veterans. ***ATTENTION: Military and Civilian Providers Who Deliver Reproductive Care to Active Duty Servicewomen*** As a follow-up to the Women’s Reproductive Health Survey, published in 2022, the Department of Defense and RAND are conducting a survey of Military Health System healthcare providers who provide reproductive care to active-duty servicewomen. The survey opened Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, and will close Friday, Jan. 17, 2025. The results will inform future policy decisions to improve the health care experience for both providers and patients. The survey is completely voluntary and confidential. Please be on the lookout for an invitation letter and invitation email (from a “rand.org” email account) with instructions for accessing the survey. We highly encourage you to participate and provide your feedback.

This year we published an updated MHS Strategy to recommit ourselves to our guiding principles and strategic goals. This strategic plan emphasizes mission first and people always– our staff and our beneficiaries – and pushes the MHS to become a requirements-driven organization to ensure our resources effectively support the military mission. We encourage you to take an active stance in the #MilitaryHealth community and read our strategy for yourself: Health.mil/MHSStrategy #YearInReview
