November 15 is #AmericaRecyclesDay. We celebrated by announcing the Biden Administration's $2 million investment in our #ChicagoMetroREO campaign through a US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Recycling Education and Outreach grant. The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus is leading this highly collaborative project with DuPage County Kane County, Illinois Will County - Green McHenry County Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Illinois and Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County with support from ILCSWMA - Illinois Counties Solid Waste Management Association and Illinois Recycling Foundation to "get residents excited about recycling" and to improve recycling participation across our region. LRS hosted our event at their Stockyards facility. See some cool footage of the event and their impressive municipal recycling facility in the news story from Fox32 Chicago linked on our page https://lnkd.in/gCuXJuRP

The Caucus is issuing a marketing services RFP to assist with the Chicago Metro Recycling Education and Outreach (REO) Campaign. https://lnkd.in/ghW_jFZ8 The Caucus seeks proposals from marketing firms to assist with achieving the three primary goals of the REO campaign: 1) To increase recycling participation throughout the Chicago Metro region (defined as the 275 municipalities falling within Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane and McHenry Counties), and especially in areas that have not historically had strong participation in recycling programs. 2) To improve the quality of materials placed in the recycling stream by reducing contamination and “wish-cycling” by waste generators. 3) To include information about the availability of products made from post-consumer recycled content materials for residents and businesses. The deadline for proposals is Dec. 20. The deadline for submitting questions is Nov. 27. #MarketingAgencyChicago #MarketingChicago #AdvertisingChicago
