Memorial Healthcare System is enhancing access to advanced emergency services with two new freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs) in Miramar and Pembroke Pines. These state-of-the-art facilities will address the growing healthcare needs of South Broward and Northwest Miami-Dade communities, increasing capacity by 30,000+ visits annually and delivering specialized care closer to home. This $61.8M project reflects Memorial's commitment to innovation and growth, ensuring timely, high-quality care for our communities. Construction begins in early 2025, with completion anticipated mid-2026. “We’re acting with expediency to meet the needs of our growing community and advance care for South Florida,” said Interim CEO Shane Strum. We are proud to announce the launch of our new state-of-the-art Care Coordination Center (CCC), a 24/7 clinical command center that incorporates virtual operations, combining people and technology to improve patient safety, optimize care delivery, and enhance operational efficiency across all of Memorial’s healthcare facilities.
