To make Meijer home delivery accessible to more households across the Midwest, we expanded our service area, tripling the range from an approximate 20-minute radius around our stores to 60 minutes. This extended delivery zone makes the service available to nearly four million additional households, with items delivered in as little as three hours. When our Canton, Mich. store opened its doors on Nov. 19, 1974, it was the first Meijer store in the Detroit market and the largest store in company history. Fifty years later, the Canton store celebrated its golden anniversary last week, marking the occasion with an in-store celebration for customers as well as a donation to the Plymouth-Canton Optimist Club. Congratulations to our Logistics team for winning a SmartWay Excellence Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a Mike Russell Trucking Image Award from the American Trucking Associations. Our Inbound Logistics team received a SmartWay Excellence Award for the fifth time since 2017, which reinforces our commitment to green transportation solutions and initiatives that reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency, and promote sustainable logistics practices. Our Outbound Logistics team received the Mike Russell Trucking Image Award for their commitment to promoting trucking industry careers and community service. Both are well-deserved recognitions, and we’re incredibly proud of this team for their continued dedication to improving the industry. #meijercommunity

Our Meijer Legacy Awards are the highest recognition a Meijer team member can receive. Regional Vice President Maureen Mitchell is this year’s recipient of the Fred Meijer Award, given to one team member annually who demonstrates Fred’s values of humility, generosity and passion for serving others. In her 15 years at Meijer, Maureen has proven to be a great leader, peer, and mentor who connects with each person as an individual, whether they’re on her team or shopping in a Meijer store. The Earl Holton President’s Award, named in honor of our former longtime president, honors a select group of team members for demonstrating Earl’s values of leadership, excellence and innovation, and we’re proud to honor Blaine Bishop, Candy Tam, Ethan Thomas, Cassie Walker and Monica Wyant as this year’s group of honorees.
