Trifluoroacetic acid is a small PFAS species used in refrigerants and polymers, and it is also a rare PFAS species that is naturally occurring. It is highly persistent and is very widespread. Its health effects are not well known. It is a potentially very difficult compound to remove. Montrose Environmental has a very helpful blog post on this compound. https://lnkd.in/ehJDxBww Victor Medina Medina Doyle Technologies

An interesting article on the use of living materials as additives in concrete to reduce carbon emissions and to develop self-healing concrete. Will Struber of the University of Colorado, Boulder describes a additive his group developed using stromatolites as inspiration. They mixed carbon fixing blue green algae with sand to create a useful amendment. Victor Medina Medina Doyle Technologies https://lnkd.in/e2TwwgMh

Last Thursday, Medina Environmental Consulting & Solutions was pleased to participate in the New Energy Technology Initiative x OHUB Climate Tech Pitch for $100,000 at The Shop at the CAC in New Orleans. Five founders made their pitch and at the end, Yuen-Li Chan of Phoenix Waste Solutions won the competition with a combination of an amazing technology and a superb plan. Several of my colleagues from the NETI Clean ClimaTech Boot Camp Accelerator, along with me, attended. I got to meet two amazing mentors to me in my start up journey, Leroy Brown & Darrel Frater ✝️. Many thanks to Michelle Nirumandrad who provided me several of the pictures!
