After two years of researching and testing various CRM options, I'm excited to share my findings! I previously used Dubsado for a year, but it was more than I needed. I then set up test accounts with Monday, Honeybook, Hubspot, Keap, Hello Bonsai, and Indy (my brain is still recovering). The Verdict: I've switched to Indy, and it's perfect for self-employed individuals like me! Indy offers the right amount of features without overwhelming me with unnecessary tools. I created this continuous line figure drawing as a demo for the Freshman Drawing Methods class I teach at the Columbus College of Art and Design. The drawing was made using black pen on marker paper and took around 5 minutes to complete. In a continuous line drawing, the pen is never lifted off the page, which results in a finished drawing with a lot of expression. I like to sketch on Bienfang Graphics 360 Marker paper with a Uniball Onyx. I ordered a mug from the BCMI Printify store to try it out. It's great quality, and it holds a LOT of tea. More than my other favorite mug so now I'm not sure what to do. It's been keeping me caffeinated all week (yes, I washed it a few times). How far back does something have to go to be a throwback? Yeah, I'm not sure either. Here is an illustration I did in grad school. It is a play on Norman Rockwell's Triple Self Portrait. It is based on a novel imaging technique that uses a synthesized form of scorpion venom to light up brain tumors and has shown promise in a clinical trial. The piece is entitled Tumor Paint. I typically work from life or photos when drawing the human form. But you can't always get the exact images you need, so you have to be able to modify as you go. This is one of over 125 illustrations done for a breastfeeding manual for Baby Gooroo.
