Here's a peek at the core section of my workout today. Going on week 3 of my current phase of training and this circuit is still kicking my butt. 45 seconds on with a 15-second rest in between for 3 rounds. I love going to the gym but for the last few months, I've mostly been doing at-home workouts during my lunch break and absolutely loving the convenience. I'm still getting a killer workout and I don't have to leave my house (or wear shoes sometimes 😅). Before becoming a trainer, I used to just do whatever exercises sounded fun for the day (still good workouts but definitely did not maximize my time spent exercising). Now I follow a specialized fitness program. My workouts are a lot more focused, more efficient, and I get way better results. If you'd like to learn more about this, send me a DM. It’s a challenging exercise so I always recommend starting off with light weight. I generally program this type of exercise into the strength portion of my training programs or sometimes as a finisher with a hold rather than a press. Celebrating 20 years meat-free 🥳🎉 Crazy how time flies!! I gave up meat when I was 12 years old for ethical reasons. I’ve always been a huge animal lover. I made the realization that I was harming animals due to my food choices which is why I went vegetarian. Though not everyone was supportive of my choices and I often got made fun of for being different, I am so glad I stayed true to myself all these years. In 2020 when I started fitness coaching, I began nutrition courses which led me to fully becoming vegan. I cannot say enough positive things about eating a healthy and well-balanced plant-based/vegan diet. I feel better than I ever have at age 32, I’ve put on muscle, I feel connected to my food, and I am proud to be an advocate for animals. Making the switch to plant-based eating can be intimating and hard to know where to begin. Soda is so unhealthy! It’s packed with sugar, artificial ingredients, and empty calories. Does it taste good? Sure. Is it addicting?
