Generations of artists have explored the beauties and terrors of the ocean, reflecting on the experiences of those who have lived and lost their lives among the waves. The exhibition "Deep Waters: Four Artists and the Sea", weaves together artworks by four artists made over centuries and across the Atlantic, following a genealogical thread united by the sea. Echoes of John Singleton Copley’s Watson and the Shark (1778) reverberate in J. M. W Turner’s 1840 Slave Ship (Slavers Throwing Overboard the Dead and Dying, Typhoon Coming On), which itself has influenced art created in the 21st century. https://lnkd.in/eA_nYfuu MFA Boston

“I needed to figure out some purpose if I was going to be an artist, some reason to expect a viewer to look at my pictures with interest. My solution was to try and pack my picture with as much psychology, narrative, unusual distortions, etc.” Michael Werner Gallery, Beverly Hills is pleased to present Flunking the Talent Test, an exhibition of new paintings by renowned American artist Peter Saul (b. 1934 in San Francisco). Throughout his almost seven-decade career, Saul has cultivated a reputation as an outsider in the art world. Decades of painting self-described “humorous yet ghastly war scenes and suffering politicians” positions him as a great American history painter of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, chronicling on canvas the United States’ unending news cycle of war and political divides. At 90 years old, Saul says that is behind him. In this show, he continues to innovate, finding and expanding on new subject matter, oftentimes inspired by traditional, art historical sources. https://lnkd.in/evigYr2s

For his first solo presentation with Hauser & Wirth in New York City, Gary Simmons will introduce a new body of work advancing his decades-long exploration into issues that haunt our national psychè—race, representation and collective identity. ‘Thin Ice’ debuts sculpture, paintings and drawings—including a sequence of canvases that isolate and re-purpose archetypical racialized imagery from cartoons of the 1920s and early 1930s, and a site-specific wall drawing referencing one of the most iconic films of the 1960s—to capture the instability and disorientation of the current American moment. https://lnkd.in/euQhpbmc

Our approach to service is much like water—adaptable, fluid, and ever-responsive to the terrain it meets. Success in the service industry doesn’t come from rigid formulas or limiting service to specific parts of the business. Instead, it requires a holistic and dynamic approach where every aspect of the organization contributes to the client experience. Our CFO, Kit Lee, exemplifies this philosophy by seamlessly managing the financial past while staying fully engaged with the present and future. Kit understands that while financial precision lays the groundwork, it’s exceptional service that truly drives results. This belief underpins Maquette’s mission: every team member, every division, and every interaction is aligned to deliver value and exceed expectations. Service is not just a department at Maquette—it’s the core of everything we do. Like water, we flow to meet the needs of our clients, adapting to challenges and opportunities to ensure their success is ours. hashtag #maquettefas hashtag #artlogistics hashtag #artservices hashtag #servicemindset hashtag #fluidservice hashtag #artofwarinspired hashtag #holisticservice hashtag #dynamicapproach hashtag #clientexperience hashtag #exceptionalservice hashtag #serviceleadership hashtag #adaptablesolutions hashtag #financialprecision hashtag #serviceindustry hashtag #artmanagement hashtag #teamphilosophy hashtag #clientfocused hashtag #serviceexcellence hashtag #cfoleadership

In the first exhibition with Hauser & Wirth since joining the gallery in 2023, Firelei Báez presents new large-scale canvases, drawings and her first-ever bronze sculpture at the gallery’s Downtown Arts District Center in Los Angeles. Complex and layered, Báez’s work depicts fantastical hybrid figures and reimagined worlds. Employing beauty to reprocess the enduring effects of violence and trauma, Báez challenges traditional representations of history, nationality, gender and race. https://lnkd.in/e_fsSTV9

Sean Kelly Gallery is delighted to announce Artificialis, Laurent Grasso’s sixth solo exhibition with the gallery. The exhibition features the US premiere of Grasso’s films, ARTIFICIALIS and Orchid Island, along with two groups of new paintings related to each film. One of the series draws inspiration from the prominent 19th century American artist Frederic Edwin Church’s evocative landscape paintings of the Hudson River Valley. The exhibition confronts the rapid changes and existential challenges of our world where human cultural impact on nature is now indelible; it places viewers in a realm where distinguishing between the real and the artificial is questioned. https://lnkd.in/gdUMQ5fC

🌆 We’re honored to have been entrusted with the care and preservation of Webster Replying to Hayne, painted by George P. A. Healy (1813–1894), a significant piece of Boston’s history displayed at Faneuil Hall. This project brought together the City of Boston, the National Park Service, Conservation Gianfranco Pocobene, and Faneuil Hall Building Management to address urgent conservation needs. After condition issues were discovered in late 2023, Maquette was called upon in January 2024 to coordinate a precise and thoughtful emergency deinstallation plan. Our collaboration with these dedicated stakeholders exemplifies a shared commitment to working with our communities to preserve our cultural legacy. #maquettefas #artconservation #boston #fineartservices #preservinghistory
