What did we learn from Election Day? - Massachusetts still retains its progressive values but had a large shift to the right. - Donald Trump won approximately a quarter of cities and towns across the Bay State. 33 that voted for Biden in 2020 flipped to Trump. - Exit polls show that Mass. voters viewed the economy and jobs as the most important issue facing the nation. - Moderation prevailed on ballot initiatives. Voters roundly rejected Question 5, which would have raised costs for small restaurants and hurt tipped workers. And they approved of Question 1, which could provide more sunlight on how the Legislature spends their money. State leaders should see this as a call to refocus on the pocketbook issues that have accelerated our outmigration crisis.
