“We are delighted to confirm that our manufacturing engineering apprenticeships will be available in Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) in Summer 2025, providing an exciting opportunity for employers on the east coast of Ireland to access this successful national programme which has been developed by industry, for industry” - said Trish Breen, Ibec announcing the expansion of the hugely successful Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeships to Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2025 today! The Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeships were developed by Irish Medtech, in collaboration with higher education institutions, Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Munster Technological University (MTU), and representatives from across the medtech and manufacturing industries in Ireland, with the backing of the National Apprenticeship Office and the Higher Education Authority to help Ireland’s manufacturing sector to "grow their own" talent pipeline. The programme expansion will create a steady supply of skilled, work-ready graduates to meet industry needs. Since 2017, over 600 apprentices have been trained for employment in manufacturing sectors - and the programme continues to grow. 100 companies are now engaged and annual registrations are rising steadily. Congratulations to all involved, especially Dr. Paul MacArtain Breda Brennan Diarmuid O Callaghan and the team from DkIT. Well done to all of these enterprising apprentices as they set off on their promising careers!
