The Community One Stop for Growth’s Site Readiness Program helps transform abandoned and vacant sites and put them back to use as new businesses, housing, and community spaces. We were in Woburn this week to celebrate more than $5M in grants through this program this year, including Woburn’s first One Stop award ever, which will support its New Boston Street Opportunity area!

How cool is this? We were at Morphoceuticals this week learning about the company's regenerative medicine work and learned how they are leveraging the power of AI to reprogram and restore living cells to treat disease and injuries. We are so lucky to have cutting-edge companies like this one on #TeamMA.
We were excited to welcome Massachusetts Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao, Undersecretary Sarah Stanton and MassVentures CEO Charlie Hipwood to the Morphoceuticals lab. It was great to show them our progress in building the first atlas of the bioelectrome and to learn more about their vision for ensuring the state remains the US hub for companies like ours. Thank you to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) team for the visit, your interest and your commitment to a thriving life sciences industry.

Secretary Hao met with Gihan, CEO of Ministry of Supply, to see the Flagship store’s NASA-engineered materials that are making heat-sensitive clothes – the perfect holiday gift! Remember to shop small this holiday season!

For 20 years, More Than Words has empowered youth with job training and workforce development opportunities. Last week in Cambridge, we celebrated a new chapter with the opening of Boomerangs by More Than Words - and did some holiday shopping!

On Team Massachusetts, we lead. We started 250 years ago when we kicked off the Revolution for our country, and we’re building on that legacy now with the Massachusetts AI Hub. With partners in industry, government, academia, and our unmatched innovation ecosystem, we’re going to show the world how to lead on AI. Thank you to our partners on Governor Healey’s AI Strategic Task Force and the many stakeholders who contributed to our vision for the AI Hub. Let’s go #TeamMA! It's officially official - we've got a thrift store! 👕 👠 🎉 Yesterday we cut the ribbon on the beautiful, renovated Boomerangs x More Than Words store and celebrated with youth, staff, graduates, supporters, and community. Mayor Denise Simmons spoke about the Cambridge Community and what Boomerangs means for Central Square. Secretary of Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) Yvonne Hao spoke about the power of small business, investing in young people and entrepreneurs, and bringing her own children to shop at More Than Words. Fenway Health CEO Jordina Shanks spoke about the legacy of Boomerangs and connection between our organizations as we keep the stores alive for this next chapter. We hope you'll come visit! Not only does every purchase fund our nonprofit mission, but the store is staffed by More Than Words graduates while they are working with our Career Services team on education and personal goals. These good jobs provide stability and support for that hard transition to adulthood. As our MTW Grad MC Lexy said: "This store is so much more than the clothing, books, and home goods... it is a place that will provide great jobs to lots of people moving their lives forward." #thriftstore #youthempowerment #ribboncutting #cambridgema

Our Community One Stop for Growth program is transforming communities by creating jobs, revitalizing downtowns, and redeveloping areas across the state. Today in Gardner, we celebrated $18M for 37 projects through the Underutilized Properties Program, which will turn neglected properties into assets that benefit everyone. This funding will help support 1,071 jobs, 747 housing units, and 463,647 sq ft of commercial space. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dEXhUr6s
