Excited to share that our team at State College, PA has already been making waves in the Penn State music scene within their first few weeks of inception. So proud of the enthusiastic leaders in this community for the hard work they have already put in to bring mojo to the masses. As Local Mojo expands into more communities like Boston, the Happy Valley, and beyond, we're excited to share how our journey began at UMass and what’s next for us. We’ve seen firsthand that businesses, musicians, and the community all thrive when the local music scene is given the right resources to succeed. This article, written by Paige Hanson, captures our story and outlines what the future holds.

What is Local Mojo? Local Mojo is a creative hub founded in Amherst, MA dedicated to supporting and highlighting local talent by fostering mutually beneficial relationships between artists and businesses. By partnering with venues for weekly concerts featuring local bands and DJs, we provide a stage for emerging artists, enhancing engagement, awareness, and building loyal fan bases for both the artists and the venues. Social media is the backbone of our success. Initiatives like “Bird is The Word” highlight weekly events and venues, while “Song of the Week” spotlights individual artists, making it easy for individuals and newcomers to immerse themselves in their creative community. More projects like music videos and artist interviews give more artists opportunities to promote their music. Beyond music and art, we are deeply committed to giving back. We leverage our platform to effect positive change, such as our Dye Up for Jayden event, which raised $2,000 for a young Melrose boy’s cancer treatment, and our Medical Hair Loss Event, which raises awareness for alopecia and the associated social and financial challenges. Regardless of the event, our goal remains the same: by fostering creativity, we contribute to the cultural richness and growth of the communities we serve.
