We are leading a transformational movement to make good health simple for all Alabamians and we invite you to join us.
About us
When it comes to health indicators, Alabama ranks among the lowest in the U.S. In Alabama, 67% of people are living with a chronic disease—that’s almost 7 out of every 10 people you know. Health is a complex equation, dealing not only with the provision of medical care, but with a broad series of factors impacting the lives of individuals and neighborhoods. These factors include zip code, income, education, race/ethnicity, family history, and many other issues. At Live HealthSmart Alabama, we are implementing changes to remove barriers to making healthy choices—with a specific focus on reducing those barriers in education, good nutrition, physical activity, and prevention & wellness.

From fresh fruits and veggies to smiling faces, our second Farmers Market was a success! 🥕🥦 These markets provide an opportunity to bring fresh, affordable produce directly to communities while also encouraging healthier habits and supporting local vendors. We’re so grateful to our partners and community members who made it all happen. Thank you to Councilman Michael Johnson of Ward 8 and Councilman Clay Carmichael of Ward 3 for coming out to support our local farmers.

This touching story from one of our Mobile Market shoppers reminds us why our work matters. 💚 Through our Mobile Market, we’re addressing food deserts by providing fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, pantry staples, and more directly to the community!
