About us

Because decades-old training methods aren't cutting it. A modern world, one where learning needs to happen with the flow of work, requires re-imagining the approach - and we've done it. We are a training & consultancy firm that upskills and collaborates with those helping others learn in adopting the Learning Cluster Design Model. The LCD model moves everyone away from giving learners more classes and courses to designing a strategic multiple learning asset offering or "learning cluster", that is tailored for diverse learners' needs and flow of work. This is how we truly change behavior on-the-job for our internal employees and external customers. Organizations today are free from the limitation of classes to build talent capability. But our traditional L&D models and customer education methods can't design learning across the flow of work, because they focus on delivering just one asset -- a course, program, set of videos, etc -- to the learner. This creates one-size-fits-all, one-time and one-place learning that can only hope to make a difference. Our differentiator is our process. Learning Cluster Design is the only ID model used by experts that strategically surrounds learners with the right set of assets to create change on-the-job. The model is supported by the Association for Talent Development and is published through the book, “Designing for Modern Learning: Beyond ADDIE and SAM”. Given a particular training challenge, we work with you or teach you how to analyze and design the strategy for a set of learning assets that have higher confidence in changing learner behavior on-the-job -- a choiceful cluster of learning assets that surround them and empower learning to happen.   • Register for our next dialogue - a kick off to 2025 career goal setting in January! Thursday Jan 16th from 12-1 pm. Hosted by Crystal Kadakia, founder of LCD Group, this dialogue features Donata Sapkute, L&D manager, who got her dream job in the latter half of 2024 through using the LCD model in her interview process. Donata came to Learning Cluster Design through a podcast, and though hadn't formally trained in instructional design, thought LCD and learning strategy skills would be a better differentiator for a learning manager role. Wow, was she right!   • What’s an example of how you personally learn? 💡 In high school, Crystal learned physics by reading the text, doing the homework, then teaching her friends. It was a learning style that worked because she could learn at her own pace and time, as well as in a social way. 📚 Digital technology has made learning possible across many more ➞ Ways 🌐 ➞ Times ⏰ ➞ Places 🌍 This got her thinking: “Why do we focus on designing one learning asset at a time in the workplace?” 🤔 The stakes are high.   • Why Isn’t Blanket Training Enough? Consider the Goldilocks Effect 🔍 When it comes to training, there's a fine line between giving learners too little information and overwhelming them with too much. ⚖️ Some Facts: One-and-done training is not suitable for everyone. 🚫 Some learners may know the basics already. 🧠 Others may need more support to apply what they've learned. 🤝 A one-size-fits-all approach may not meet individual learning needs. 🔄 Does most of your learning only address the “New” moment of learning need?
