Developing strong leaders for a stronger Lincoln
About us
Leadership Lincoln engages individuals from diverse backgrounds by providing them with the knowledge, experiences, skills and leadership tools that prepare them to become effective leaders within the community. We offer four classes including Fellows, Executive, Academy for Local Leadership and Youth. Each year our Fellows program brings together individuals from across the community. They meet once a month and by the end of the year, they graduate filled with the understanding of what makes Lincoln tick and a sincere desire to get engaged through their service on a board, as a volunteer and/or reaching out as an individual to help those around them. Senior executives from all aspects of the Lincoln community, both new to town and long-time residents, gain a deeper understanding of the issues facing Lincoln and at the same time make connections across all levels and types of organizations that make up our city. Acting on requests from public officials and agency directors, we conduct The Academy for Local Leadership (formerly known as Project ALL) to orient participants about and prepare them for service on a nonprofit board or public commission. Past participants in The Academy now serve on the Lincoln City Council, on city and county commissions and volunteer with a number of Lincoln’s nonprofit organizations. Participants in our Youth program are high school sophomores. They spend one day a month together discovering there are others like them outside their geographic bubble who live in other parts of the city and county. They grow to understand how our city, county and state function, they gain a deeper understanding of businesses in Lincoln and they broaden their understanding of Lincoln’s nonprofit sector as well. We have more than 3,000 alumni who have been through our programs since we were founded. Leadership Lincoln offers regular opportunities for our alumni to learn and discuss current issues affecting our community. To get a feel for our organization and the various activities and classes we offer, we keep facebook up-to-date with stories and photos. https://www.facebook.com/LeadershipLincolnInc/

Leadership Lincoln reposted this
Give to Lincoln Day is my 2nd most favorite time of year for fundraising through direct mail! 💌 So let me take a "second" to share what I love about this envelope filled with goodness from Leadership Lincoln. 1) I love the dual purpose of the piece promoting the new alumni association + Give to Lincoln Day! 2) I love the very influential board of directors listed in the side bar. 3) I love that there is a letter AND a trifold brochure inside. Hope YOU and my Fellow Class XX peeps join me in giving today at: https://lnkd.in/gbyMpU7Y Want to chat about your holiday direct mail dreams over coffee? In April, our adult participants spent the month learning more about the different dimensions of health and wellness! They spent their seminars learning about palliative health, the Lincoln Police Department and Centerpointe’s alternative response program, as well as how to incorporate health and wellness into their daily lives. They also spent part of their seminar days volunteering with Meals on Wheels and delivering meals! Thank you to Bryan Health, CenterPointe, and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals for hosting our adult programs last month. Also, thank you to our wonderful and gracious curriculum committee for helping create such an enriching experience!

All it takes is one person to help create a better Lincoln for future generations! Can you help us achieve our mission of affecting change in our community? Your donation can send a student through our youth program, help pay for lunches during a seminar day, and, most importantly, develop better leaders for a better Lincoln! By donating through the Give to Lincoln Day platform, your donation will get a boost from the $650,000 match fund! Give to Lincoln Day is coordinated by the Lincoln Community Foundation with a matching fund made possible by local sponsors. The more we raise, the larger the match we'll receive. But we only have until May 30th to help us reach our goal. Go to bit.ly/Give2LL2024 to donate!
