Are we really GenAI ready? Users have made it clear they’re willing to bend or break the rules to use the tools they need in their jobs, highlighted by findings in the 2024 API Impact Report. While 80% say their organizations have guidelines on AI usage, 60% of those with restrictions say they are finding workarounds to violate those policies. It’s on organizations to quickly adapt to figure out how to enable AI innovation and efficiencies without compromising on non-negotiables like data security and regulatory compliance, especially as new laws are put in place to ensure responsible AI usage. The challenge lies in finding a balance between enabling AI innovation and ensuring data security and regulatory compliance. Organizations must establish clear guidelines and safeguards, especially with new laws and regulations like the European Union’s AI Act going into effect. The bottom line? Companies must figure out how to innovate responsibly, or risk falling behind as the AI age charges forward.
