Banner Estrella Medical Center is proud to announce the groundbreaking of a major construction project to expand and enhance its services in the west valley Phoenix region. Starting this week, the hospital began construction to add 36 licensed beds, with the new spaces expected to open to the public by June of 2026. The expansion project, which will entail a $37 million investment, includes building out additional space in the operating room and expanding the women and infant service areas. This investment aims to increase the bed capacity to support planned incremental and organic growth and position the campus to align with Banner's Southwest regional strategy. "We are excited to embark on this significant expansion project that will allow us to better serve our community and meet the growing healthcare needs in the region," said Courtney Ophaug, chief executive officer at Banner Estrella Medical Center.
