Kennedy M&A Q3 update for the consulting industry found median valuation metrics rose approximately 20% through a tentative recovery in deal activity, indicating that acquirers are paying a premium for quality assets in high growth segments with limited available acquisition opportunities. The interquartile range indicates a range of potential valuation outcomes depending on quantitative and qualitative aspects of a specific target company and market segment. As we stress to our clients, there are issues interpreting average reported multiples and a wide range of considerations to consider – which also need to take into account reviewing of deal structure in conjunction. Q3 2024 review of M&A trends in the consulting and digital services sectors to the end of the third quarter indicates strong tailwinds for deal activity, with substantial rises in valuation multiples compared to last year. Whilst we monitor macro risks in the final quarter of the year as we run up to the U.S. elections, our ongoing conversations with active buyers and investors in the industry indicates positive sentiment in Q4.
