The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) October 2024 Jobs Report has been released! Here is your quick snapshot: 📅 Job Growth: Total nonfarm payroll employment was essentially unchanged in October (+12,000). Employment continued to trend up in health care and government. Temporary help services lost jobs. Employment declined in manufacturing due to strike activity. Job creation in October slowed as the impacts of storms in the Southeast and a significant labor impasse dented the employment picture. 💼 Industry Observations: Both the labor force participation rate, at 62.6 percent, and the employment-population ratio, at 60.0 percent, changed little in October. These measures have shown little change over the year. ⚡️ Unemployment Update: The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1 percent in October, and the number of unemployed people was little changed at 7.0 million.
