Jones Walker attorneys M. Richard Schroeder and Donald Washington and their spouses attended the 125th meeting between Army and Navy’s football programs on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Landover, Maryland. Rick earned his BS, with merit, from the United States Naval Academy in 1980 and Don earned his BS from the United States Military Academy in 1977. Navy defeated Army, 31-13, to win the game and claimed the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy with the victory.

Congratulations to Valerie Fontenot, JD, MPH, special counsel on the Healthcare Industry Team, who recently graduated from the Committee for a Better New Orleans (CBNO) 2024 Bryan Bell Metropolitan Leadership Forum. CBNO celebrated this year's cohort during the Celebration of Leaders Event. Each year, the CBNO Leadership Forum selects 50 leaders from the New Orleans area to participate in weekly forums where they explore relevant issues and develop the skills to drive meaningful change.

The Jones Walker securities team, led by partner Kenneth Najder, with assistance from partners Thomas Kimball and Alexandra Clark Layfield, and associates Det Beal and Tyler Hays, represented Lumen Technologies, Inc and its principal financing subsidiary in connection with cash tender offers to acquire nearly $950 million of eight separate series of their respective senior unsecured notes. These offers were launched and settled in November 2024 using the Securities and Exchange Commission’s accelerated tender process.
