A Texas appellate court recently affirmed summary judgment in favor of The Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., The Woodlands Land Development Company, L.P., and LJA Engineering & Surveying, rejecting negligence claims brought by homeowners over property damage from Hurricane Harvey. Jackson Walker had the privilege of representing Howard Hughes Corporation and The Woodlands Land Development Company in this significant case, which clarified key issues regarding legal duties in residential development. Jackson Walker recently sponsored an incredible event for our local veteran law students in honor of Veteran’s Day. We hosted the Houston Bar Association Veteran’s Committee “Mix and Mingle Lunch” at our office in Houston. Students from all three Houston law schools sat down with attorneys from different practice areas to learn about “a day in the life” of a practicing attorney.
