  • 🌟Employee of the Month Spotlight🌟 At Irby Psychological Services, we believe in celebrating excellence, and this month, we're thrilled to shine a spotlight on our outstanding employees of the month! 🏆 🌟Ali G, ABA Admin Assistant🌟 When asked why they voted for Ali G, her colleagues said: "Ali goes above and beyond to ensure the aba staff is well taken care of!" "She makes adjustments quickly and effectively and always brings a positive attitude to the clinic! Ali does so much for IPS. She truly is amazing!" 🌟Logan, RBT🌟 When asked why they voted for Logan, their colleagues said: "They are always willing to step in and help when needed. They also go above and beyond to ensure that the clinic stays in tip-top shape." "Logan is super aware of their surroundings; they are always jumping in to clear the room and/or block the clients when maladaptive behaviors are occurring. They do an excellent job prompting coping skills and functional communication. They also communicate effectively with BCBAs about the client's successes and struggles, as well as any issues with the implementation of targets." Let's give a big round of applause to Ali G and Logan for their hard work, dedication, and positive impact on our IPS team! 🎉 Your contributions are valued and appreciated. 🙏 #IrbyPsych #EmployeeOfTheMonth #Teamwork #Appreciation

  • Looking for toys that are both fun and FUNctional? Here is an OT-inspired gift list to get your kid’s and your imagination flowing, not to mention all the functional benefits these gifts provide! -Squigs. The building possibilities are endless with this toy. Play sitting on the floor, standing at the refrigerator for a core/balance challenge, and take with you in the car. Stick them down and set a timer to beat as your little one pulls them off the surface. A great fine motor task that seems like play! -Puzzles. Talk about boosting your child’s cognitive skills! Puzzles are a great way to do that. It increases visual scanning, pattern recognition, matching, problem-solving, and concentration. You can use a wooden board puzzle to create a fun treasure hunt for the pieces or challenge them with a larger floor puzzle. You can even find your child’s favorite characters on puzzles, which makes them even more inclined to complete it to see that final product. -Dress up clothes. Playing pretend and being a princess or a pirate is always a treat! It is also a great way to work on dressing skills with your kiddo because the outfits are so much fun to put on. Dress-up shoes are a bonus, too! -Writing tablet. Do I even need to explain this one?? It is easy to take with you and allows your child endless opportunities to draw, scribble, or write. These fun tablets encourage creativity, practice pencil grip, and help develop fine motor skills. Plus, you can always offer it over a phone or tablet to minimize screen time and encourage play!
