Iowa corn farmers continue to implement innovative conservation practices to protect and improve our state’s water. Cleaner water starts at the farm, and every action counts. Because this is an issue that affects us all, Iowa Corn is proud to support and collaborate on a number of production and environmental initiatives with diverse partners to help improve Iowa’s land and water. One of these initiatives includes the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy. The Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy is a science and technology-based framework to assess and reduce nutrients to Iowa waters and the Gulf of Mexico. Learn more about the goal of this initiative and how it is helping us continue to improve conservation practices in Iowa. https://lnkd.in/gJFRyMrT #WaterQualityWednesday #SustainableFarming #IowaCorn #Conservation

From time to time on our page, you'll see familiar faces in far away places promoting corn and its uses many uses while on a trip we call Trade Missions. One of the questions we often get is, "what is the purpose of trade missions"? That's something we'd be glad to answer! In an ever-globalizing world, international partnerships remain vital to creating strong relationships that ultimately result in corn trade. The United States is the world leader in corn exports, with Iowa leading the charge as the top-producing state of corn, DDGS and ethanol, among other products. In fact, the ag sector is the only sector of our economy with a trade surplus. With over ninety-five percent of our population living outside the U.S. trade is key to farmer’s bottom line. Trade missions play a critical role in showcasing the products we produce to buyers across the world. #corn #corngrowsiowa #cornfuelstheworld #cornitseverything

Iowa Corn reposted this
I had the honor of attending Textile Exchange’s 2024 conference where Stan Nelson, farmer and chairman of Iowa Corn, participated in a panel alongside farmers from Argentina (wool), India(organic cotton), and Australia (cotton/corn). Each farmer shared their unique perspective on their products used for textiles, emphasizing the importance of understanding farmers' practices firsthand. Stan's message resonated: "Come to a farm and see what we are doing before you make assumptions about what you think you know." #TextileExchange #Farmers #TextileIndustry

So many incredible and creative innovations using corn from the Radicle Corn Value Chain Challenge. Congratulations to the winners, ME Energy and all of the finalists for their technologies! Just look at where corn can take us!
🏆🎉 And the winners of the Radicle Corn Value Chain Challenge Sponsored by US Corn Farmers are… 🎉🏆 We are thrilled to announce the outstanding teams that impressed our judges with their innovative solutions! 🥇 1st Place: ME Energy - Liquid Electricity GmbH GmbH Winning first place, and taking home a $1M investment prize, is me energy GmbH. me energy has developed unique technology enabling Rapid Chargers that generate climate-friendly electricity from low-cost ethanol. me energy’s portable, rapid chargers, powered by renewable energy such as corn bioethanol, can also create a new use for corn. The stations do not require a connection to the power grid because they generate their own electricity from sustainable bioethanol. 🥈 2nd Place: Låkril Technologies In second place, winning a $500,000 investment prize, is Låkril Technologies. Låkril’s bifunctional catalyst enables the efficient conversion of corn ethanol into bio-based acrylics, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional petrochemical methods. This innovation leverages renewable corn resources to produce acrylics, reducing carbon emissions and aligning with the growing demand for eco-friendly chemical production solutions. A huge thank you to all the companies who participated, our judges for their invaluable insights, and everyone who joined us for this exciting event. Together, we’re shaping the future of the corn value chain! Stay tuned for more updates and congratulations to our winners! 🌽💚 #RadicleChallenge #AgTech #Innovation #SustainableAgriculture #CornValueChain Thank you to all our Challenge partners: Iowa Corn National Corn Growers Association IL Corn Colorado Corn Promotion Council Kansas Corn KENTUCKY CORN GROWERS ASSOCIATION South Dakota Corn Ohio Corn & Wheat Nebraska Corn Board Michigan Corn

“On behalf of Iowa’s farmers, we extend our gratitude to Governor Reynolds for extending the harvest weight proclamation as it is a tremendous help for Iowa’s corn farmers,” said Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) President Stu Swanson, a farmer from Galt, Iowa. “With the large corn crop coming out of the fields the extended weight allocation for a 500-acre Iowa corn farmer would require 13 fewer truckloads and a 1000-acre Iowa Corn farmer would require 26 fewer truckloads. This saving is felt at the farm level bottom line as both a time saver and a fuel saver.” https://lnkd.in/g2TK3wke
